Im afraid but the behavior of the activity valuation strategy is general. If you do CATA to a PS / PM, the behavior is the same if you do confirmations i mean, use the valuation strategy in table V_T399X_PC. if the reciever is a object witout valuation strategy, use the sequience explained in the OSS.

If you post something to a previous month, the system respect the strategy.

Determination of valuation strategy:

As of Release 4.6A, you can also valuate (actual) activities with prices other than plan prices. The strategy used depends on the receiver of the activity allocation. If a list of valuation strategies exists for the receiver, the list is processed one after the other. The first strategy for which a price exists is used for the valuation.

• The receiver of the activity allocation is a manufacturing order, network or network activity:

                       The list of valuation strategies is determined from the valuation variant that is defined in the costing variant of the order or network. However, the valuation variant is not evaluated if frozen prices already exist for the order. Frozen prices (valuation strategy 9) can occur if you use the material ledger.

• The receiver of the activity allocation is a cost center, a business process, a cost center with activity type, an order that is not a manufacturing order oranother account assignment object not yet listed (sales order item, real estate object, profitability segment, cost object):

                       The valuation is performed with the strategies
    8 (Manual price)
     7 (Current actual price)
     1 (Plan price).

1. 3. If a price cannot be determined for any of the strategies determined for the receiver object, a corresponding error or a warning message is issued. For manual prices or actual prices, the value 0.00 is not accepted as a valid value. However, the value 0.00 for the plan price, if this value was determined in the last strategy from the strategy sequence. The message type of the messages can sometimes be set in the message Customizing.

If you want to analize what strategy is triggering in your case, set a break point in the in the exit explained in the OSS, its quite simple, you can spend 10 minutes. Change the valuation strategy in the exit is also easy.

I dont remember specific OSS for CATS. If you find the OSS, please share.
